Led by the inimitable Conor Oberst—the prodigious talent widely dubbed “the new Bob Dylan” when barely out of his teens—the Omaha trio dazzled across a succession of brilliantly introspective albums, from ‘I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning’ and ‘Digital Ash in a Digital Urn’ (both 2005) to ‘Cassadaga’ (2007) and ‘The People’s Key’ (2011), before going on hiatus. Since returning in 2020 with ‘Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was’, Bright Eyes have shown they’ve lost none of their shine.</p>
