Clockenflap is all about having fun – but here’s some simple advice to make sure you stay safe.  

 

  • Look After Your Friends - If you see someone who isn't feeling well, please contact a medic or security staff. They'll thank you later.

  • Keep Hydrated – Drinks lots and lots of water. It’s good for you! There are free filtered water stations available at the festival site.

  • Pace Yourself – Alcohol can be fun at festivals, but please pace yourself.

  • Take A Break – Whether it’s dancing the night away, or just sitting in the sun, be aware of high temperatures and take the occasional break.

  • Do Not Climb – There is an abundance of space, so please refrain from climbing on things for better views. 

 

Audience safety

From the very beginning, the safety of our audience has been one of our primary concerns and we go above and beyond to ensure this. Every year we face different challenges with regard to security and audience safety. These are always diligently planned for, and lead to the implementation of specific protocols each year.

 

This year’s situation has been fully assessed according to strict international guidelines as well as liaison with all relevant local and international parties, to ensure we can bring Hong Kong another great weekend of music, arts and fun in a safe environment.

 

Below are some of the measures that we always implement and will again be in place for the festival this year:

 

  • A well-equipped and strong team of medics, trained to handle event related illness/injury

  • Organise the festival in the cooler months.

  • Free water stations across the event site.

  • A team of international security professionals who have 145 years of experience working at large festivals, they manage the local teams who are hand-picked by our security chief.
  • Detailed crowd management plans for both normal and emergency situations.
  • Comprehensive bag check.

 

Smoking is only permitted in designated zones

There is no smoking cigarettes, e-cigs or vaping devices in festival site, except in designated smoking areas.

 

What happens if it rains on the day?

Clockenflap will go ahead rain, wind or snow. So come prepared with your raincoat! (Note: Umbrellas are prohibited from the festival site.)

In the event of an extreme weather event, such as typhoon, information about the opening hours of the festival site will be posted to the festival’s Facebook page.

 

 

Can I bring children to the festival?

Clockenflap is a family-friendly festival, with plenty to do for the kids. Children aged 12 and under can enter for free, and strollers / baby buggies are allowed. Please note there is a maximum of two free children per one paying adult. 

 

 

Is there a festival app?

Yes, a festival app featuring the schedule, map and other useful information will be available for the start of the festival.

 

 

Is the festival accessible for fans with mobility disabilities?

Yes, fans with disabilities are welcome at Clockenflap and the majority of the site is flat and wheelchair friendly. Please note that only those who have mobility disabilities may use mobility devices. Crutches, wheelchairs and powered wheelchairs are allowed for use by people with mobility disabilities. 

 

Clockenflap is a crowded event. For safety reasons, please ask permission to bring a powered mobility device other than crutches or a wheelchair, particularly if it can move faster than walking speed or is very heavy. Clockenflap personnel may ask individuals using another type of power-driven mobility device for a credible assurance that the device is required because of a disability. Security will impound inappropriate mobility devices until the end of the event.

Prohibited Items

Attendees and their belongings are subject to search upon each entry to the festival. Anyone that refuses to comply with the search policy will be refused entry into the event

The following items are prohibited at Clockenflap – Anyone who breaks these rules can be refused entry or be asked to leave the site with no refund:

  • No smoking in no smoking zones
  • No outside food & beverages

  • No ticket exchanges

  • No unaccompanied children – children 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult at all times

  • No illegal drugs or substances of any kind

  • No underage drinking

  • No professional camera / audio recording devices

  • No camera accessories, including selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, go pro mounts and attachments, detachable lenses or other commercial equipment

  • No chains/chain wallets

  • No firearms, explosives or weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, pepper spray, fireworks, etc)

  • No flags
  • No chairs of any kind
  • No drones
  • No umbrellas
  • No musical instruments (especially drums)
  • No radios or walkie-talkies
  • No laser pointers
  • No skateboards, scooters, bicycles, wagons, carts or any personal motorized vehicles, except mobility wheelchairs
  • No pets (except for service animals)
  • No glass bottles or containers
  • Unauthorised/unlicensed vendors are not allowed. No unauthorised solicitation and materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, etc.

Official Photography & Recordings

Please note that Clockenflap’s official photographers and videographers will be on the festival site. By attending the festival, you consent to being photographed and/or filmed. Clockenflap shall reserve the rights to use, copy, distribute, publish, republish print, display, transmit, create derivative works containing your image, portrait, photograph, footage, voice and/or likeness, without compensation or notification to, or additional consent by you.

 

 

What kind of camera & recording device can I bring with me?

You are welcome to take photos and recording with your phone or a simple point-and-shoot camera for your own persona purposes. Professional cameras are not permitted at the venue space (no detachable lenses, no tripods, big zooms, or commercial use rigs).

How do I purchase a ticket?

Will there be tickets available on the day?

Tickets will be available for purchase throughout the festival, both online via our Tickets page and the on-site box office.

 

 

What should I do if I lose my ticket?

If your Clockenflap tickets are electronic tickets issued by Ticketflap and you lose your ticket, you can log into your Ticketflap account and re-download the ticket.

What is a Clockenflap-plus ticket?

Offering the ultimate stress-free festival experience, Clockenflap-plus gives fans the opportunity to party in style and extra comfort all weekend long. Clockenflap-plus pass-holders will have exclusive access to the covered lounge featuring comfy sofas, beanbags and cocktail tables plus an outside terrace. As well as offering great views of the Harbourflap and Atum stages, respectively, the lounges will also offer guests: complimentary canapés and other delicious nibbles all weekend long; a full range of premium drinks at reasonable prices; exclusive access to premium washrooms; and dedicated runners who will fetch your favourite eats from any of the festival’s food vendors. Can I purchase a Clockenflap-plus ticket if I already have a festival ticket?

Fans who have already purchased their festival tickets can upgrade to Clockenflap-plus for HK$1,500 for a three-day weekend pass, HK$500 for Friday pass only, or HK$610 for Saturday or Sunday pass only. 

I have purchased a three-day weekend General Admission / Student ticket, can I upgrade to Clockenflap-plus for just one or two days?

Yes. You can upgrade to Clockenflap-plus for any single day you prefer, HK$500 for Friday only, or HK$610 for Saturday or Sunday only.

Can I bring my children into the Clokenflap-plus VIP lounge?

Clockenflap-plus ticket holder can bring their own children under age 12 into the VIP lounge.

GETTING TO CLOCKENFLAP

Clockenflap 2019 festival location?

Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront.

 

 

Where is the entrance to Clockenflap?

The entrance to Clockenflap is located next to the Hong Kong Observation Wheel and Central Pier No. 10.

 

 

What are the transit options for Clockenflap?

Clockenflap is located at Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront, which is easily accessible by public transport. 

 

Bus

Depending on the bus route, you can alight in Central or the Outlying Ferry Piers and walk to the site.

 

Ferry

The festival entrance is walking distance from all the Central ferry piers, including Pier 2. Park Island, Pier 3. Discovery Bay, Pier 4. Lama Island, Pier 5. Cheung Chau, Pier 6. Peng Chau / Mui Wo, and Pier 7. Star Ferry. The entrance to Clockenflap is located next to the Hong Kong Observation Wheel and Central Pier No. 10.

 

MTR

The nearest MTR station is Hong Kong Station / Central Station (the stations are connected), which are terminus stops for the Tung Chung Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island Line and Airport Express. From Hong Kong Station take Exit A2 or from Central Station take Exit A, and follow the walkway signs towards the Central Star Ferry Pier. At the Ferry Pier, you see the festival to your right – following the promenade around the harbour to reach the festival entrance, which is beyond the observation wheel.

 

Taxi

Alight at the Star Ferry taxi drop off and walk straight ahead. The festival is approximately 2 to 4 minutes walking distance from the drop off point. Please note that due to the high likelihood of congestion, we recommend taking public transport.

 

 

Are there car parking options?

There is no parking at the venue. The closest public carparks are located at City Hall, IFC and Pacific Place.

 

 

ENTRY & WRISTBANDS

What do I need for entry?

You must bring your ticket and photo ID. Failure to bring ID could significantly slow your entry. The name on the ID must match the name on the ticket.

 

Our staff will be checking tickets and IDs at the entrance. If the name on your ticket doesn’t match the name on your photo ID, you will be refused entry. Please make sure you’ve updated the name on your ticket if you need to! One ticket is valid for one entry only.

 

If you have a student ticket, you must bring full time Hong Kong student ID. Festivalgoers with student tickets who fail to produce valid ID to prove their eligibility will need to pay the difference in price to a General Admission ticket in order to enter the festival.

 

 

Do I need a print out of my ticket?

You can either print your ticket or if you have a phone with a big screen transfer the PDF to it.

 

 

What is the functionality of wristband on site?

Use your wristband anywhere on-site to pay for food, drinks, merchandise and handicrafts in the craft market. You will not be able to use cash to make purchases anywhere at the festival. To ensure you can re-enter the festival on the same day, you must scan your wristband upon exit. 

 

And for the first time ever, you can pre-load value to your wristband before the festival at tickeflap.com exclusively using PayMe. If you pre-load value, you will receive your wristbands pre-loaded at the festival entrance, allowing you to immediately make purchases onsite.

 

You can continue to add to your pre-loaded balance via Ticketflap.com using PayMe, until your ticket is scanned and you receive your Clockenflap wristband. After the festival, any remaining wristband value will be eligible for the refund process. For more details here.

 

 

Can I exit & re-enter the festival?

Yes. Make sure you scan your wristband upon exit, and be sure to come back via the Re-Entry lane at Main Entrance. Please keep your ticket in case you miss scanning out.

(If you don't scan out, you will not be allowed back in on the same day!)

 

 

Do I need to keep my wristband on overnight if I have a weekend pass? (How to re-enter on the next day?)

Yes. The wristband is waterproof, therefore, please keep it on during the weekend. Cut-off/ torn wristband will not be accepted. Each day when you come back in, you can enter by simply scanning the wristband at entrance. However please bring your weekend ticket and photo ID in case it needs verifying. 

 

 

How can I replace my wristband?

If you need to replace your wristband for any reason, please visit the Help & Information counter at the entrance gate on-site, however, do not cut the wristband off, only intact wristbands will be repaced. Any balance on your old wristband will be transferred to the new wristband.

 

I have a General Admission/Student ticket and purchased a Clockenflap-plus upgrade ticket – which ticket do I present to receive a wristband?

You should present both of your General Admission/Student ticket and Clockenflap-plus upgrade ticket at the festival mian entrance VIP fast track lane and receive your wristband and Clockenflap-plus pass.

ONSITE PAYMENTS

How can I pay for things at the festival?

Use your wristband anywhere on-site to pay for food, drink, merchandise and crafts in craftmarket. No cash will be accepted for purchase anywhere on site. 

How can I add money to the wristband?

You can top up your wristband at any of our Add Value stations. Please refer to the festival map to see the locations of our Add Value stations.

Can I use cash or credit cards on-site?

Clockenflap is a cashless festival. You can top up your wristband at any of our Add Value stations. All add value stations accept cash, credit card and EPS.

How can I check the balance of the wristband?

You can check your balance at Add Value stations, bars, food outlets or look out for one of our balance checking staff.

 

 

What can I do if I have a remaining balance left on my wristband when the festival finishes?

You can apply online for a refund through Clockenflap.com after the festival. All refunds are at the sole discretion of Clockenflap.

 

 

ONSITE FACILITIES

Will there be free water available at the festival?

It is important that you stay hydrated at the festival. There are free filtered-water stations provided by Life Soluton throughout the site for you to use at your convenience. This year, Clockenflap will reduce the use of single-use plastic onsite to a bare minimum as the organiser is introducing re-usable cups across the board, festivalgoers will also be encouraged to bring in their own non-glass water caniste.

 

Is there food and beverages available for purchase at the festival?

Delicious food & drink is an important part of the Clockenflap experience. At Food Bazaar, festivalgoers can chow down on a wide selection of tempting cuisines, including plenty of veggie options and health-conscious option, or refreshing drinks from over 20 handpicked suppliers within easy reach of the main stages. What’s more, Kuuchi café offers a laidback picnic vibe where festivalgoers can enjoy a cupcake, coffee or other light refreshments.

 

 

Is there any baby changing area at the festival?

A small, private area will be provided for diaper changing and breast feeding next to the Kids Workshop.  

 

 

What is your lost child protocol?

The staffed, lost child collection point throughout the festival are the help & info tents at main entrance and opposite to the ATUM stage. If lost children or parents separated from their children, arrive at other points or speak to a member of staff they should be directed or taken to the closest collection point as appropriate.

 

Are there public toilets at the festival?

Yes, portable toilets with sinks will be available on site and will be cleaned regularly.

 

 

Where is the lost & found?

Found: Please take any found items to Help & Info on-site at the entrance gate.

 

Lost: If you misplace something please check with Help & Info on-site at the entrance gate, as things will be turned in there.

 

 

Where can first aid assistance be found on the site?

Medical tents will be located throughout the festival grounds, and will be clearly marked and visible from afar. Trained EMTs will be on-hand in these tents to address any and all medical incidents, and please don’t be afraid to stop by a medical tent – even if you just have a question. Additionally, if you see anyone at the festival who appears to be in need of medical assistance, please inform a member of our medical or security team, or even help him/her find their way to the medical tent(s). 

 

Anyone bringing medication or a syringe for medical purposes will need to show your medication, prescription and a photo ID at the festival entrance.

 

 

What is the festival’s approach to recycling?

Clockenflap has strived to consider the planet and invested in ways of properly managing – and wherever possible, recycling – waste, and this year’s festival aims to achieve a previously unreached level of recycling for an event in Hong Kong.

 

This year, Clockenflap will reduce the use of single-use plastic onsite to a bare minimum as the organiser is introducing re-usable cups across the board, festivalgoers will also be encouraged to bring in their own non-glass water canister, which they can refill for free at the festival’s water fountains, care of Life Solutions. Clockenflap also encourages attendees to take ownership of their waste by using the recycling and reusable cup stations throughout the site, which have clear signage and dedicated staff to help festivalgoers separate their waste into the correct bins.

 

Every container used at Clockenflap will be 100% recyclable or reusable, and the festival doesn’t allow plastic straws, stirrers or landfill-generating gimmicks from our sponsors, while food suppliers are prohibited from using plastic packaging and cutlery, too.

 

Will there be ATMs on site?

There are no ATMs on the site, so bring cash / credit card / EPS with you. The nearest ATMs are at Pier number 7, Hong Kong Station MTR or at IFC Mall.

 

 

Will there be onsite free Wi-Fi?

Sorry - there'll be no public WIFI service available at the festival site.

 

 

Are there storage spaces at the festival?

No lockers or storage spaces will be provided, so remember to pack light.

 

 

Can I camp at the festival?

No, there is no camping at the festival venue. Please note, there are plenty of hotels in the area for those wishing to stay close to the festival. 

 

 

REFUNDS

What can I do if I have a remaining balance left on my wristband when the festival finishes?

You can apply online for a refund through the Clockenflap.com from Tuesday 26th November, 2019 (10:00 AM HKT) until Monday 16th December, 2019 (23:59 PM HKT). All refunds are at the sole discretion of Clockenflap.

MTR

The nearest MTR station is Hong Kong Station / Central Station (the stations are connected), which are terminus stops for the Tung Chung Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island Line and Airport Express. From Hong Kong Station take Exit A2 or from Central Station take Exit A, and follow the walkway signs towards the Central Star Ferry Pier. At the Ferry Pier, you see the festival to your right – following the promenade around the harbour to reach the festival entrance, which is beyond the observation wheel.

 

Taxi

Alight at the Star Ferry taxi drop off and walk straight ahead. The festival is approximately 2 to 4 minutes walking distance from the drop off point. Please note that due to the high likelihood of congestion, we recommend taking public transport.

 

 

Are there car parking options?

There is no parking at the venue. The closest public carparks are located at City Hall, IFC and Pacific Place.

 

 

What do I need for entry?

You must bring your ticket and photo ID. Failure to bring ID could significantly slow your entry. The name on the ID must match the name on the ticket.

 

Our staff will be checking tickets and IDs at the entrance. If the name on your ticket doesn’t match the name on your photo ID, you will be refused entry. Please make sure you’ve updated the name on your ticket if you need to! One ticket is valid for one entry only.

 

If you have a student ticket, you must bring full time Hong Kong student ID. Festivalgoers with student tickets who fail to produce valid ID to prove their eligibility will need to pay the difference in price to a General Admission ticket in order to enter the festival.

 

 

Do I need a print out of my ticket?

You can either print your ticket or if you have a phone with a big screen transfer the PDF to it.

 

 

What is the functionality of wristband on site?

Use your wristband anywhere on-site to pay for food, drinks, merchandise and handicrafts in the craft market. You will not be able to use cash to make purchases anywhere at the festival. To ensure you can re-enter the festival on the same day, you must scan your wristband upon exit. 

 

And for the first time ever, you can pre-load value to your wristband before the festival at tickeflap.com exclusively using PayMe. If you pre-load value, you will receive your wristbands pre-loaded at the festival entrance, allowing you to immediately make purchases onsite.

 

You can continue to add to your pre-loaded balance via Ticketflap.com using PayMe, until your ticket is scanned and you receive your Clockenflap wristband. After the festival, any remaining wristband value will be eligible for the refund process. For more details here.

 

 

Can I exit & re-enter the festival?

Yes. Make sure you scan your wristband upon exit, and be sure to come back via the Re-Entry lane at Main Entrance. Please keep your ticket in case you miss scanning out.

(If you don't scan out, you will not be allowed back in on the same day!)

 

 

Do I need to keep my wristband on overnight if I have a weekend pass? (How to re-enter on the next day?)

Yes. The wristband is waterproof, therefore, please keep it on during the weekend. Cut-off/ torn wristband will not be accepted. Each day when you come back in, you can enter by simply scanning the wristband at entrance. However please bring your weekend ticket and photo ID in case it needs verifying. 

 

 

How can I replace my wristband?

If you need to replace your wristband for any reason, please visit the Help & Information counter at the entrance gate on-site, however, do not cut the wristband off, only intact wristbands will be repaced. Any balance on your old wristband will be transferred to the new wristband.

 

I have a General Admission/Student ticket and purchased a Clockenflap-plus upgrade ticket – which ticket do I present to receive a wristband?

You should present both of your General Admission/Student ticket and Clockenflap-plus upgrade ticket at the festival mian entrance VIP fast track lane and receive your wristband and Clockenflap-plus pass.

How can I pay for things at the festival?

Use your wristband anywhere on-site to pay for food, drink, merchandise and crafts in craftmarket. No cash will be accepted for purchase anywhere on site. 

How can I add money to the wristband?

You can top up your wristband at any of our Add Value stations. Please refer to the festival map to see the locations of our Add Value stations.

Can I use cash or credit cards on-site?

Clockenflap is a cashless festival. You can top up your wristband at any of our Add Value stations. All add value stations accept cash, credit card and EPS.

How can I check the balance of the wristband?

You can check your balance at Add Value stations, bars, food outlets or look out for one of our balance checking staff.

 

 

What can I do if I have a remaining balance left on my wristband when the festival finishes?

You can apply online for a refund through Clockenflap.com after the festival. All refunds are at the sole discretion of Clockenflap.

 

 

Will there be free water available at the festival?

It is important that you stay hydrated at the festival. There are free filtered-water stations provided by Life Soluton throughout the site for you to use at your convenience. This year, Clockenflap will reduce the use of single-use plastic onsite to a bare minimum as the organiser is introducing re-usable cups across the board, festivalgoers will also be encouraged to bring in their own non-glass water caniste.

 

Is there food and beverages available for purchase at the festival?

Delicious food & drink is an important part of the Clockenflap experience. At Food Bazaar, festivalgoers can chow down on a wide selection of tempting cuisines, including plenty of veggie options and health-conscious option, or refreshing drinks from over 20 handpicked suppliers within easy reach of the main stages. What’s more, Kuuchi café offers a laidback picnic vibe where festivalgoers can enjoy a cupcake, coffee or other light refreshments.

 

 

Is there any baby changing area at the festival?

A small, private area will be provided for diaper changing and breast feeding next to the Kids Workshop.  

 

 

What is your lost child protocol?

The staffed, lost child collection point throughout the festival are the help & info tents at main entrance and opposite to the ATUM stage. If lost children or parents separated from their children, arrive at other points or speak to a member of staff they should be directed or taken to the closest collection point as appropriate.

 

Are there public toilets at the festival?

Yes, portable toilets with sinks will be available on site and will be cleaned regularly.

 

 

Where is the lost & found?

Found: Please take any found items to Help & Info on-site at the entrance gate.

 

Lost: If you misplace something please check with Help & Info on-site at the entrance gate, as things will be turned in there.

 

 

Where can first aid assistance be found on the site?

Medical tents will be located throughout the festival grounds, and will be clearly marked and visible from afar. Trained EMTs will be on-hand in these tents to address any and all medical incidents, and please don’t be afraid to stop by a medical tent – even if you just have a question. Additionally, if you see anyone at the festival who appears to be in need of medical assistance, please inform a member of our medical or security team, or even help him/her find their way to the medical tent(s). 

 

Anyone bringing medication or a syringe for medical purposes will need to show your medication, prescription and a photo ID at the festival entrance.

 

 

What is the festival’s approach to recycling?

Clockenflap has strived to consider the planet and invested in ways of properly managing – and wherever possible, recycling – waste, and this year’s festival aims to achieve a previously unreached level of recycling for an event in Hong Kong.

 

This year, Clockenflap will reduce the use of single-use plastic onsite to a bare minimum as the organiser is introducing re-usable cups across the board, festivalgoers will also be encouraged to bring in their own non-glass water canister, which they can refill for free at the festival’s water fountains, care of Life Solutions. Clockenflap also encourages attendees to take ownership of their waste by using the recycling and reusable cup stations throughout the site, which have clear signage and dedicated staff to help festivalgoers separate their waste into the correct bins.

 

Every container used at Clockenflap will be 100% recyclable or reusable, and the festival doesn’t allow plastic straws, stirrers or landfill-generating gimmicks from our sponsors, while food suppliers are prohibited from using plastic packaging and cutlery, too.

 

Will there be ATMs on site?

There are no ATMs on the site, so bring cash / credit card / EPS with you. The nearest ATMs are at Pier number 7, Hong Kong Station MTR or at IFC Mall.

 

 

Will there be onsite free Wi-Fi?

Sorry - there'll be no public WIFI service available at the festival site.

 

 

Are there storage spaces at the festival?

No lockers or storage spaces will be provided, so remember to pack light.

 

 

Can I camp at the festival?

No, there is no camping at the festival venue. Please note, there are plenty of hotels in the area for those wishing to stay close to the festival. 

 

 

What can I do if I have a remaining balance left on my wristband when the festival finishes?

You can apply online for a refund through the Clockenflap.com from Tuesday 26th November, 2019 (10:00 AM HKT) until Monday 16th December, 2019 (23:59 PM HKT). All refunds are at the sole discretion of Clockenflap.
