WHO-DO CATERPILLARS

ART WORK/PROJECT NAME: WHO-DO CATERPILLARS

The winner of Clockenflap’s 2019 Arts Open Call, Who-Do Caterpillars are a surreal and scaled-up reimagining of the eponymous tiny wriggling creatures, and are sure to be a big hit around the site. Created by Sum Sum, these colourful characters will rove around the festival to interact with fans and create wild and wonky photo opportunities all weekend long.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: SUM-SUM TSE

Sum-Sum Tse is a multi-disciplinary mixed-media visual artist with a lifelong fascination of scenic settings portrayed in gothic, surreal, science fiction and fantasy art and literature. Her work explores the textures and surfaces of nature over run - abandoned environments reclaimed by nature and things left behind by humans. Tse likes experimenting with traditional medias and tries to re-purpose, subvert and exploit their conventions. She’s currently obsessed with traditional textile crafts such as crochet, macramé, weaving, hand embroidery and pinatas.
