ST/ART

ST/ART is a loose collective of about 12 of Hong Kong's most prolific urban artists.
Through demonstration events, exhibitions, collaborations and documentary media, the ST/ART collective aims to challenge perceptions of traditional graffiti and legitimise genuine street / urban art - while at the same time questioning the value of the established commercial 'art' scene.
ST/ART also provides a forum and exposure for the growing number of talented urban artists in Hong Kong, as well as providing avenues for their work through the Donate Walls campaign. This campiagn is designed to attract local firms and individuals to "donate" prominent outside wall space to allow the artists to work with a rarely experienced freedom - without time constraints, pressure or risk of prosecution.
Since its inception at the start of 2005, the collective has appeared at several local festivals, enjoyed press, TV and radio support and also been commisioned to provide artwork for several local and overseas publications. ST/ART has also been invited on major collaborative projects with Reebok, Evisu, Tiger Beer, Monchichi and Mini International.
The collective has also curated and sponsored three of its own successful group exhibitions; RE:ST/ART, 450/SQ.FT and 10:10 Hong Kong Vision – all of which attracted considerable media attention and public support.
The ST/ART Collective is an initiative of leading Hong Kong creative studio ChinaStylus and was created to document, encourage and legitimize the growing urban art culture in Hong Kong & Asia.
