Posin til Closing (HK)

Posin til Closin [You’re so vain, I bet you think this night is about you]
Earlier this year, a dirty, but much loved mongrel music night reared it’s head in Hong Kong. Posin til Closin was born: an indiscriminate cocktail of music pleasures presented by Simon Pang’s music consultancy, Stattus.  The name not only epitomizes the scene when Pang started DJing in London during the ‘80s, but is a chuckle at Hong Kong’s own clubbing culture.  Through Stattus, Uptown Rockers, Twice the Speed of Sugar and Rude Movements, Pang’s established as a one of Hong Kong’s tastemakers and bootyshakers.  Joining him on the ones and twos are Stattus stable mates Casey Anderson – a fresh imported producer from Florida – and Chi Brotonel – drummer of post-punk rockers The Sinister Left.
By day the ‘Poseurs’ make a living out of being the coolest music nerds in the room, advising leading lifestyle emporiums and fashion brands on what their look should sound like.  Needless to say there’s a bottomless pit of music knowledge between the three of them –best avoid asking them questions like, “so what are you listening to?”  Having been born on three different continents, the boys’ diverse backgrounds are key to Stattus’ success as the leading music consultancy in Asia.

Listening to a dangerous amount of  music everyday, these boys can only take so much before their hearts and studio burst- Posin’ til Closin’ is Stattus’ exertion to politely relieve itself , and unleash their ever-expanding love of all things rock & roll………..and not.
